This is a varied and rewarding role that combines the administration of the Society\u2019s journal which is published in conjunction with Cambridge University Press and responsibility for the organisation and administration of the Society\u2019s events and activities.<\/p>\n<p>Specific duties include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The administration of activities associated with the production of the Journal such as dealing with Scholar One (management system for submission and peer review) requirements, checking submissions for production, dealing with author enquiries and meeting with the Editor and Cambridge University Press on a weekly basis. Journal &amp; Academic Publishing Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Essential <\/em><\/p>\n<p>A major part of the job is supporting the <strong>Editor of the<\/strong> <strong>Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using Scholar One to manage submissions (Training will be given on the use of Scholar One<\/li>\n<li>Supporting authors and editors through peer review<\/li>\n<li>Preparing submissions for production<\/li>\n<li>Liaising regularly with Cambridge University Press<\/li>\n<li>Organising editorial meetings and agendas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Events Organisation &amp; Logistics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Essential<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This role is heavily operational. Key expectations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning, promoting and delivering lectures and events<\/li>\n<li>Managing room bookings, catering, equipment, staffing and schedules<\/li>\n<li>Creating flyers and promotional materials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Technical &amp; Digital Skills (AV, Zoom, Video, Website)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Essential<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Zoom (links, live streaming, recording, troubleshooting)<\/li>\n<li>AV equipment for hybrid events<\/li>\n<li>Editing lecture recordings and uploading to YouTube<\/li>\n<li>Updating and maintaining a website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>5.
