The Digital Library includes:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Three exquisite Persian manuscripts: the <em>Shahnamah<\/em> of Muhammad Juki (RAS Persian 239), the <em>Gulistan<\/em> of Sa\u2018di (RAS Persian 258), and the <em>Masnavi<\/em> of Zafar Khan (RAS Persian 310)<\/li>\n<li>The digitized archive of Sinologist and mathematician Thomas Manning (1772-1840), which was acquired by the Society in 2015<\/li>\n<li>A selection of Malay manuscripts from the collections of Sir Stamford Raffles, Sir William Maxwell, and William Farquhar; including a particularly important copy of the\u00a0<em>Sejarah Melayu\u00a0<\/em>(RAS Raffles Malay 18)<\/li>\n<li>A film of archaeological excavations at Nineveh, Iraq, ca. 1930, under the supervision of Reginald Campbell-Thompson<\/li>\n<li>The Brian Houghton Hodgson collection of architectural drawings of the Kathmandu Valley, completed by the Nepali artist Raj Man Singh Chitrakar in 1844<\/li>\n<li>Most of the Society&#8217;s oil paintings, well as a number of other important artworks from our collections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We hope to gradually add more content to the Digital Library.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1758571289840{background-image: url(https:\/\/royalasiaticsociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/landscape1.jpg?id=1875) !important;}&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Digitization Sponsorship<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The Society welcomes sponsorship from members and supporters to digitize our collections so that we can make more of our treasures available for anyone from anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">As part of its bicentenary initiatives in 2023, the Society launched a digitization sponsorship appeal and this resulted in two important manuscripts digitized, including a richly illuminated copy of <em>Bustan<\/em> of Sa\u2019di (<span class=\"s1\">Persian 251<\/span>) and a volume of two texts on Indian history and legends<b> <\/b>(<span class=\"s1\">Tod 126<\/span>). We are now continuing the appeal and invite you to take part in helping us provide wider access to the collections for a global audience.
